What a great bunch of guys (and sheilas ) When the guy I was riding with's Harley broke down they had a group of their members who seemed to be pretty savvy with Harleys rallied round to help, and between them got him running. They put on a real good day. If I can find my old army papers I might put in an application to join them

Not only did he sort us out with accomodation, but introduced us to the patriots and their tremndous pub. Jackie www.btw-uk.co.uk	Please could I ask you to pass on my thanks for the help we received from your members on Saturday when two out of the three trikes we were on broke down during a visit to your clubhouse at Crumlin. We are Country Directors of Brothers of the Third Wheel UK and had been holding our AGM at Blackwood at the Welsh Transport Festival. Your members had been kind enough to invite us to visit your club house on the Saturday. Unfortunately due to the bad weather and previous commitments only 5 of us were able to make the run on three trikes. We were made very welcome and after about an hour we got ready to go home only to find that one trike had developed a fuel leak and ours had a completely flat battery. Our member with the fuel leak phoned the AA and we all prepared ourselves for a long wait in the rain waiting for them to arrive and hoping they also had a set of jump leads we could borrow for our trike. That, we found, was not to be, one of your members, whose name unfortunately I did not get but I think his patch said something like "Peep", was having none of that. He went across the road and knocked on a door and a few minutes later another gentleman came out with a set of jump leads and moved his car up to get us going. Less than 5 mins after discovering we had broken down we were on our way home again. While our other members waited for the AA he got another one of your members to put the kettle on for hot drinks which was certainly appreciated by the other BTW members as they could drink no more due to driving home afterwards. I hope you can pass on my personal thanks to everyone concerned and hope that, if ever any of your members were in a similar situation we would be able to assist you. As a biker myself, it meant a lot (never got his name - tallish slim guy with a pony tail - thanks again). It was quite an emotional day, and it did mess my head up. I never had any problems with that in the preceding 25 years, but since London it's hit me hard. Ride on and ride free guys, that camaraderie is worth it's weight in gold and something I sadly, badly miss since leaving the RN 20 years ago.

As a former marine myself I was both ashamed and disgusted. I served in the Marine corps in another country a long time ago and was horrified that in this day and age men who gave everything for Queen and country and wound up with horrific injuries and mental health problems can be ignored by the very people they fought to protect. I am a member of the National Association for Bikers with a disability and would like to steer your members with disabilities that preclude them from riding as bike or trike to the website www.nabd.org. It has advice on adapting bikes or trikes for user by riders with various disabilities. There is also a grant system to help with adapting bikes or trikes. If any of your members are in need of advice about the possibility of riding independantly again please feel free to pass them my email adress or my mobile number 07973 711 937 and i'll do my best to make sure your members get the advice and help they need to get back on the road. I was Royal Engineer for 24 years & left in 2000 (met Denzil in FI when I was Q Mines). Left without a scratch & then went clearing landmines/UXO in Kosovo & Lebanon. Donated my left leg to the cause in Lebanon in 2002 and now work for Handicap International in Belgium. Just bought a trike which my brother is going to fix up & do the adaption so hope to be 'triking' in the summer!
